How to read an ATS renewal quote

Most renewal surprises are visible in the paperwork weeks before anyone talks price. Before your first renewal call, check these.

  1. Compare the unit price, not the total. Seat counts and employee bands move, so a flat total can hide a higher rate.
  2. Find the uplift clause. Multi-year deals often include annual increases. Ask for a cap in writing before you sign year one.
  3. List every line item that wasn't on the first order form. Add-ons tend to arrive at renewal.
  1. Check the notice window. Auto-renew clauses can require notice well before the term ends, which quietly removes your leverage.
  2. Ask what happens to your data, and your API access, if you leave.
Is this for you

Made for an active evaluation.

A good fit if you're

  • Choosing or replacing an ATS in the next six months.
  • Deciding between two or three of the tools we cover.
  • At roughly 100 to 10,000 employees, or growing into it.
  • Heading into demos, reference calls, or a renewal.

Not a fit if you

  • Hire a handful of people a year.
  • Want a feature matrix. The vendors publish those.
  • Run high-volume hourly hiring. We don't cover those tools yet.

Questions

Before you buy.

Why these seven tools?

They're the ATSs growth-stage teams shortlist most often. If yours isn't here, tell us and it moves up the list.

Is any vendor paying for this?

No. Vendors can't pay to be included, ranked, or reviewed, and we take no affiliate fees.

Can I expense it?

Yes. Receipts include your company name, and we can send an invoice if your finance team needs one.

What's the refund policy?

Email us within 30 days for a full refund. No questions asked.

How do I access it?

After checkout you'll get an email with your access link. It's a web guide you sign into with your work email, so there's no PDF to forward around.
