Both are full applicant tracking systems with sourcing and CRM, interview scheduling, and reporting built in. The clearest public differences are in how they sell. Ashby shows a starting price for companies up to 100 employees and sells "All-In-One" plans by company size. Greenhouse publishes no prices and sells three plans, Core, Plus, and Pro, by hiring complexity. Greenhouse says it has 450+ pre-built integrations to Ashby's 250+. And an AI notetaker comes with Greenhouse's Core plan but is a paid add-on on every Ashby plan.

How Greenhouse pricing works
Greenhouse doesn't list prices. Its pricing page says pricing "is customized based on your company's hiring needs" and names three inputs: the plan you choose, your hiring volume and organizational complexity, and the features your workflows need. You'll see a number only after a demo.
What's in each Greenhouse plan
- Core: sourcing and CRM, structured interview kits and scorecards, AI Notetaker, scheduling, reporting and analytics, SSO, and Talent Matching.
- Plus: everything in Core, plus AI-powered report filters, a Business Intelligence Connector, Greenhouse Sourcing Automation, texting, and fraud and spam detection.
- Pro: everything in Plus, plus unlimited CRM events, enterprise-level data configuration and security, an audit log, and a developer sandbox and sync.
How Ashby pricing works
Ashby sells three All-In-One plans by company size and shows a price for the smallest one.
- Foundations (up to 100 employees): the pricing page shows $400 per month next to a company-size selector, so expect the figure to move with headcount. Annual commitments get 10% off. It includes 1,500 AI credits and 1,000 outbound texts a month.
- Plus (101 to 1,000 employees): quoted. Ashby says pricing is "based on company size, usage, and commitment." AI credits and texts are allotted per seat.
- Enterprise (1,000+ employees): quoted, on what Ashby calls "a predictable pricing model."
Ashby also sells Ashby Analytics by itself, for companies with 100+ employees that want its reporting on top of a different ATS. That's priced by usage.
Add-ons to price into both quotes
Base plans rarely tell the whole story. These are the extras each vendor names publicly:
- Ashby: AI Notetaker (all plans), SSO ($100 per month on Foundations), Advanced Scheduling (Plus), Candidate Data Enrichment (Plus and Enterprise), Advanced Diversity Analytics (Plus), extra texts ($90 per 1,000), and extra AI credits and sourcing email lookups.
- Greenhouse: no add-on prices are published. Texting, the BI Connector, and Sourcing Automation start at Plus, and the audit log and developer sandbox start at Pro, so needing one of them can move you up a plan.
Ask both vendors for a line-item quote that names every add-on, and ask what each one costs at renewal.
Integrations
Greenhouse says it has 450+ pre-built integrations and an open API, grouped into categories including HRIS and onboarding, job distribution, screening tools, sourcing, analytics, productivity and collaboration, and candidate experience. Ashby lists 250+ out-of-the-box integrations across assessments, candidate experience, e-signature, job boards, sourcing, video interviewing, and post-hire tools, and calls its open API a core product.
Raw counts matter less than whether your tools are covered and how deep each connection goes. List every system that touches hiring, such as your HRIS, background checks, assessments, and job boards, and check each one in both directories. Then ask who built each integration and which data syncs in both directions.
How to choose between Greenhouse and Ashby
- You're under 100 employees and need a number for budget approval. Ashby's Foundations plan gives you a published starting point. Greenhouse requires a demo before you see a price.
- Your stack depends on many third-party tools. Check your exact tools in both directories. Greenhouse's is larger by count, but coverage of your tools is what decides it.
- Reporting is your top requirement. Ashby sells its analytics as a standalone product, which shows how central reporting is to its pitch. Greenhouse includes reporting in Core and adds a BI Connector in Plus. Ask both to build two or three of your real reports live.
- You want fewer add-on line items. Map the features you need, like a notetaker, SSO, texting, and advanced scheduling, to each vendor's plans. Then compare total cost, not base price.
Questions to ask both vendors in the demo
- Which plan would we need for our size, hiring volume, and required features, and what would push us to the next one?
- Can you send a line-item quote with every add-on named, and the price of each at renewal?
- What's the annual price increase cap, and will you put it in the order form?
- Can we see our own jobs and interview process in a sandbox instead of the demo account?
- For each of our integrations, who built it, and what syncs in each direction?
- If we leave, what data can we export, in what format, and does API access continue during the transition?
More questions, grouped by topic, are in our ATS demo question list.
Frequently asked questions
Is Ashby cheaper than Greenhouse?
Public information can't settle it. Ashby's pricing page shows $400 per month for its Foundations plan, which covers companies up to 100 employees, but doesn't say which company size that figure applies to. Greenhouse doesn't publish prices. Above 100 employees both vendors quote, and add-ons change the total, so compare line-item quotes.
Does Greenhouse publish its pricing?
No. As of October 24, 2026, Greenhouse's pricing page lists three plans, Core, Plus, and Pro, with no prices. It says pricing depends on your plan, your hiring volume and organizational complexity, and the features you need.
Which has more integrations, Greenhouse or Ashby?
Greenhouse says it has 450+ pre-built integrations and an open API. Ashby lists 250+ out-of-the-box integrations and also describes an open API. Check your specific tools in both directories before deciding.
Can I use Ashby's reporting with a different ATS?
Ashby sells Ashby Analytics for companies on another ATS with 100+ employees, priced by usage. Confirm your ATS is supported before you buy.
